SOFIA TOUR

SOFIA SIGHTSEEING WALKING TOUR - 2 HOURS:

The tour starts at Alexander Nevski Cathedral. First, the guests will be given a summary of the history of the city of Sofia and then will learn about the history of the following monuments and sights of interest: St. Nedelia church, St. Sofia statue, St. Petka Samardjiiska church, the Synagogue, the Central Market, St. George Rotunda, the Houses of President, Battenberg Square, National Art Gallery, National Theatre "Ivan Vazov", Russian church, Monument of the Unknown soldiers, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Parliament, the Monument of King Liberator, St. Sofia church (museum), Alexander Nevski Cathedral, Boyana Church.

ONE DAY RILA MONASTERY CULTURAL TOUR



One day trip to the 10th century AD Rila Monastery, which is the biggest and most spectacular monestary in Bulgaria, one of Europe's oldest, and is included in UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage List. Rila monastery is a place of mass pilgrimage for people from all over the world - a place of great activity, an outstanding and vivid spiritual, cultural and religious centre with cultural, historic, architectural and artistic values of world significance. One of the most interesting items in the Monastery is the Icon of the Holy mother of Odyghitria, which is divided into 32 sections in the form of a quadrangle, each containing the relics of a Saint. Another treasure of major importance is the Monastery's library.

FULL DAY CULTURAL TOUR - TROYAN MONASTERY, ORESHAK



This excursion includes: A visit to the Troyan Monastery, the third largest monastery in Bulgaria, situated in the Balkan Mountains and founded in 16th century. It is famous for its wood decoration, the highest quality hand-made wood carving by masters from Tryavna. Visit to the Museum of Folk Crafts in the nearby village of Oreshak where you will have the unique opportunity to try yourself some of the traditional crafts.. Finally, return to Sofia.
